I'm a 26 year old female, 5'4'; and 135 lbs. I have 34 DD breasts and they are killing my shoulders and back...not to mention I am very self conscious of them. I've wanted a reduction for some time. Can anyone tell me how their experience was, if they would recommend it and lastly, do you think my insurance would pay for a reduction?Advice from women about a breast reduction please?
RABOSU, Last year my mother got a breast reduction and the results look really good so far. Where I live a there are certain cosmetic surgeons that are better than others. I'd consult plastic surgeons in your area and see what they have to offer. http://www.plasticcosmeticsurgerycenter.鈥?/a> A local cosmetic surgeon should be able to answer your questions.Advice from women about a breast reduction please?
I had a great experience with my breast reduction surgery...my doctor actually recommended it, though I had been thinking about it for awhile.
For me, the only regret I have about the experience is that I am now trying to conceive, and the chances of me being able to breast feed are greatly minimized by the surgery. However, there are options that I am exploring, and it is not the end of the world!
If you are really feeling compromised physically and mentally, I would certainly talk to your doctor about it. If a doctor recommends it, your insurance may cover it, though you should definitely do your research!
Good luck, and feel free to email me if you have more specific questions about the surgery experience, ok? My advice is don't rush into it, ask tons of questions, and make your decision! Good luck!

Go for it! I went through it Feb 2006 and don't regret it one bit. If I had to do it again I would!
Insurance WILL pay for a reduction.
I have a ton of information for you, if you give me your email I can send it to you in .doc form. I went from a 38J to a 38C and I have never felt better!
Okay well I had mine done and I'm loving every moment of it but are you in Canada or the States because I can't say anything for insurance for the Sates.
My experience I remember going into the operating room with a wide and happy grin. Coming out still a grin. The next day I was doing small things such as going to the bank and shopping. I was feeling great! Then a few days later I had to go to the hospital beause I did too much, so that was my own fault. I had no pain and was able to lift my arms above my head. Getting the staples removed was a piece of cake. I had my operation about a year and half ago. The scars are still there but not really noticable. My boyfriend doesn't mind them either.
I was 18 years old, 5'4'; and 190 lbs. with 38 DD. Today I'm 20 years old, 5'4'; and 190 lbs. with 38 C. Would I recommend it? Umm back pain free, free of being self conscious, wearing cute little bras? God yes!!
