Good questions!

First things first: improving your approach/opening skills.

You need to bear three main things in mind when you approach women:

1. What you say must be short and intriguing. And, if possible, a bit funny.

2. You must deliver what you say confidently, without showing outward signs of anxiety or nervousness.

3. During the entire approach, you must NOT look like you are looking up to the woman or putting her on a pedestal. You must stay on an even playing field with her. This is the reason guys fail when they keep complimenting women they barely know: they hand all of the control and power over.

Pick one or two 'openers' or conversational topics and practice with them. For example, ';I've been having a discussion with a few friends...do you think it's okay for a guy to carry an umbrella or do you think it's a bit...let's say...unmanly?' Choose something that matches your personality and practice it.

Next...getting rid of your fear of flirting. You should remember that when a woman flirts with you, she is giving you the green light to flirt back. That's not only what she expects, that's what she wants. So don't worry about whether or not it's okay to do it. You just need to expand your comfort zone. Use the habituation technique: force yourself to keep doing it until it becomes more normal and easy for you.
