Why is it, when i search for weight loss advice, 99% is aimed at women?

I am a 32, a guy, who wants to shift 3 stone. Im considering the GI diet as this appears to be the most healthy option and one that I can see myself sticking to. But I wish I could find a resource aimed at men like me so I can make an informed choice. Any ideas anyone? Any help appreciated!!Why is it, when i search for weight loss advice, 99% is aimed at women?
Because women are more open about their weight issues than men tend to be, or at least that is the general perception, I think. That would be my guess. Why is it, when i search for weight loss advice, 99% is aimed at women?
Stop eating so much, exercise. Boy typing this has been exhausting I need a beer and some chips BYE!!!
women are manic about their body image, we instinctively know that the way to a man's soul is through his eyeballs

women are 'turned on' more by words, feelings, romance, humor, and the way to her soul is through her ears

as long as men don't feel the overwhelming feeling of needing to have a 'perfect body', they will never be as obsessed with their shapes, and they will never get as much attention
because i think that most women feel more sensitive about the way they look towards others. Also i feel that it is likely that women want to look and feel good. Another point i would like to make is that with men they my not feel that they need the help to lose weight, much like they dont want to ask directions as they feel that they can do it themselves with out any help of others, so they most men would not feel that they need the help to lose weight.
There are a ton of reasons why all of the weight loss advice is aimed at women, we would be here all day reviewing them. :P

Anyway, the website for Men's Health magazine has an entire section for weight loss. Just go to www.menshealth.com and click on ';weight loss'; in the horizontal menu near the top of the screen.

Hope that helps!
mens health magazine always has things to help men lose weight.

hope this helps :)
Women take better care of their body's than men. They also spend more money than men on beauty stuff. Again it's all about money.
Honestly, the best place to start is at the GP's surgery. Get a health check before you start the diet and ask to be referred to the practice nurse for a diet plan, most surgeries offer this now.

Good luck :-)
Please understand that the diet and weightloss industry is a business and for the most part a big scam designed to part people from their money. Women seem to have greater insecurity about body image than men and so are therefore a better target for the sharks who wish to give them short term solutions for weightloss at, of course, a financial cost for the advice.

There a two basic principles for weightloss, good diet and good exercise (about a 70/30 ratio). As we grow older our body metabolism slows down, so we burn less energy and our bodies become less efficient at breaking down food. To help fire up your metabolism your diet should consist of lots of protein (chicken, turkey, fish and lean beef are best), moderate amounts of carbohydrates (don't cut out your carbs all together, just reduce it to two or three small portion per day), eat plenty of fresh greens and some fruit (be careful with your choice of fruit as some fruits have very high carb content, like bananas). Also you must drink plenty of water, at least 3 litres a day. Cut down on your fat intake, try replacing your usual fats with olive oil based alternatives.

One really important thing to do is eat 6 small meals a day at 2 - 3 hour intervals, and excercise at least 3 three times a week. Stick to this and you should see long lasting results. Also look up a guy called Micheal Thurmond on the internet, he is a expert in diet and fitness and really knows his stuff.

Be well!
yes.

buy a pack of cheese-cheddar.

and cut it up into little cubes.

when you feel as if your about to faint, eat ONE cube.
there is this new machine out called crazy massage exercise machine, you stand on it and it shakes, 10 mins is equal to 1 hour running non- stop, my mum's got it, it's her new best friend
There are several programs aimed at men but they are not as well known. Things are more prevelant towards women as they spend a lot to look good. So economics dictate what you see more. Talk to your physician and even the people at the gyms etc. They'll have something for you to look at.

For me it is eat better (better foods), exercise more and generally get going and do things. I've lost over 25lbs and doing fine. So 3 meals a day (don't have to be big or overly healthy), exercise more, which includes more walking to places and getting up and doing things (doesn't matter what just move) and it works.
